What we are, and what we are not
- We are not the Zaanse Schans. The village is run by Stichting de Zaanse Schans. We are not it, we are not connected to it, and we do not speak for it.
- We are not the ticketing authority. There is no admission ticket to the village at all, and the Ticket Zaanse Schans is sold by the foundation, not by us.
- We are not a tour operator. Every tour on this site is run by the company named on its own booking page. Your contract is with them.
How the links work
Tour bookings on this site go to Viator. If you book after following one of those links, Viator pays us a share of its own commission. The price you pay is the price on the listing; a tracked link does not change it.
Every affiliate link on this site carries rel="noopener sponsored", which
is how a search engine and a screen reader are told what it is.
What money cannot buy here
- Position. Operators cannot pay for a place in the top three, for a higher position in the grid, or for a badge. The order is set by rating and review volume, with one deliberate exception stated on the homepage: the days that give the Zaanse Schans under an hour go last, because a reader searching for the windmills should not meet a forty-five-minute photo stop first.
- A badge. Best seller means the highest review count on the page. Top rated means a rating of 4.9 or better. Best value means the lowest price. Each is checked against the captured data before it is printed.
- A review. Every review paraphrased on this site was left by a real traveller on that tour’s own booking listing, and the critical ones stay in.
Where the numbers come from
Prices, ratings, review counts, durations and inclusions are the operators’ own figures, read from their listings on 2026-09-04. They move. Treat them as a guide and check the listing before you pay.
Facts about the Zaanse Schans itself — hours, admission prices, parking charges, access, the history — come from Stichting de Zaanse Schans and are cited where they are used. The foundation publishes its own prices.
Ratings and reviews as structured data
This site does not mark up ratings or reviews as structured data anywhere, on any page. They are not our ratings to publish that way. They appear as plain text, labelled as the operators’ figures, on the reviews page.
